Halloween tricks or treats

It feels that Halloween was a long time coming and then all of a sudden BAM there it was.  The kids had fun celebrating Halloween at school with lollipop treats and face painting.  Yesterday they couldn't wait to get dressed up and attend our first Trunk or Treat at one of the local churches.  Usually we do the mall and the Fort and if there are enough lights on around our neighborhood go door to door.  But this year I couldn't find any info on if the Fort was having trick or treating so we went with Plan B.  And Plan B was good.  We couldn't find Little Miss' witch hat so she put her fairy wings on top of her outfit and Monster Bean dressed up as Batman.  :)

To start things off they served hot dogs with chips and had cups of hot cocoa out.  Which was nice because we were all eating outside and while it's nice for a ND October evening, it's still chilly.  :D

Inside there were carnival games and it was a little chaotic but the kids were able to ferret out what was what pretty easily.  :)

Then at 6:30 they started the trunk or treat.  We got outside at about 6:40 and already the line was out to the street and we waited for a good 15 minutes (okay I'm just guessing, but it felt like at least 15 minutes) before we were able to start at the first car.  The wind had picked up so that made it feel chillier but once we started moving it wasn't so bad.

When we finally got home I wanted to  make sure we had a good picture of the kids dressed up with their pumpkins and daddy.

Hope everyone else had a great Halloween!
