FO and first days of summer

Technically it isn't summer yet, but with the way the weather has been it certainly feels like it!  Yesterday was a bit windier but still pretty nice to play outside.  I took a sweet shot of Monster Bean practicing his casting skills with his fishing rod.

A funny story about that too....I told him to aim only at the backyard and onto the driveway.  Well as I'm turned around playing with Little Miss, he shoots it out and it buzzes past my ear making me freak out just a little.  :)  Here's Little Miss mid -run :D

On Tuesday I found this sweet pattern that I knew was perfect for a pregnant girlfriend.  I also happen to be making a sweater by the same designer so I knew it was going to be a good one.  It's Jimmy & Millie Monkey by Kate Oates.

I did it without the pompom on top because while it looks really cute, pompoms can easily be torn apart by curious little fingers and also, I find them a huge pain in the butt to make.  I really enjoyed this pattern, it was easy (even though I was confident I had done the ears wrong...til I scrolled down and read more of the instructions) and is simple adorable!!!!  Plus it's written for baby through adult sizes so I'm totally making one for myself.  :)
